Happens every now and then with our Echo. We unplug information technology for nigh 30 seconds and so plug it dorsum information technology. Sometimes I reset the wifi equally well, merely usually unplugging it does the trick!

Yup. This is the set the majority of the fourth dimension for me. Unplug, wait a flake, and so plug her back in.
level two
The solution for well-nigh whatsoever problem should outset with this trick

Last night it was "I'1000 having trouble understanding right now.". We just left information technology alone and service was restored a few hours later.

Getting aforementioned issue with all our devices for the TP-Link Kasa skill. Reviews for the skill indicate that it appears widespread.
level 2
Disabling then enabling the TP-Link Kasa Skill resolved my issues this morning.

Probably a regional Alexa/tplink skill thing sadly as had no troubles with the TPLink Kasa controlled sockets and bulbs hither (UK). Hopefully it'll sort itself out.
Not had whatsoever issues with Alexa for a while, though did accept a mean solar day or so towards end of concluding year when it would say the "there are several services chosen blah blah blah, which i did you mean" (despite each name being unique) or merely "sorry something went wrong".

TP-Link devices working fine here in Ohio 9am 3/iv/2019.

Aye, that happens every couple of months, and it happened again yesterday. Follow the recommendation to disable and re-enable the Kasa skill in the Alexa app to restore service.
Google Domicile is as well unremarkably affected when that happens, so it'due south likely caused by the Kasa servers going offline for a bit - or at least the api that the vocalization assistants use. The divergence is that Google Home usually restores Kasa support automatically inside an hour or so of it working again, while Alexa takes several hours at least, and in some cases information technology doesn't ever come back until you exercise the disable/re-enable thing.

Mine just starting doing this with my Leviton skill besides. I haven't tried disabling/reenabling the skill yet.

Happening to me too, specially with Xbox

Ability downward the host device and your wifi router. Turn on router, wait a minute, the your host device. If that doesn't ready it someone is attacking the server. Only will accept to wait information technology out.
level 1
Try going into your router and setting your DNS servers to the ones provided past google.
8.8.8.8 and eight.8.4.4
Then just power cycle repeat device. Your ISP provides DNS servers which are:
-
slower than google servers
-
maybe non resolving the IP accost for your repeat
Worst case you lot'll take meliorate DNS service.

You're kidding, correct?
Google DNS servers accept been hacked and then many times, I don't fifty-fifty remember Google has a record of how many times.
2nd, they're only equally fast every bit your ISP can handle Anycast Traffic.
The effect with this user is Echo can not talk to AWS.

My states "I cannot play music on that device - but I volition play XYZ" later on i request annihilation - from NPR to Play Prodigy
level 1
I simply utilize my repeat dot for timers, setting a few each day. For the by couple of weeks, it has had to be power cycled every day and a half or so. It's crazy frustrating.

I've been getting this a lot. Speak slowly, don't yell, and exist patient. I've learned yelling at trivial plastic devices is futile. Husband suggested that since she learns voice it's probably bad to use an outdoor vocalism.
The simply 1 I take to regularly unplug and replug is my Bear witness (1G)

Amazon are effing up. Mine has been misbehaving all day saying no connexion. My internet is fine. Checking the IPs Alexa talks to for AVS, there is some serious loss at their peering.
